In 2018, Kamaroutes was listed as one of the continent’s 100 changemakers ( Tourism category)  at the prestigious Tropics Business Summit in Johannesburg. Two years later in March 2020,  Kamaroutes’ director Vanessa Mbenoun made the African DOers list, another brilliant initiative of the Tropics Business Group. The « African DOers » annual power list features sons and daughters of the African continent from all walks of life. Other nominees included Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia, Caster Semenya from South Africa and Manu Dibango from Cameroon.

By doing so, the South Africa-based and award-winning Tropics Magazine acknowledges the contributions of the most powerful leaders ‘shaping the future of Africa’, one initiative at a time. The #AfricanDOers is also a call to action on social media to inspire a new generation of Doers through promoting a positive image of the African continent.
